He is conducting a study to find out whether there was a genetic susceptibility that led some people to develop paralysis following infection with the polio virus. On “Antiques Roadshow,” Mary Garrett brought in a collection of celebrity photographs and autographs she had collected as a child. Mary, now in her 60s, served as the March of Dimes poster-child in 1955, when she suffered from polio She traveled the country to raise awareness for the cause.
