In my 20,s I loved to dance and go camping. I was always trying hard to keep up with everyone.I was a nurse so I was on my feet alot. Then the last 5 years of working I forced myself to walk out the front door and put one foot in front of the other to go to work because every evenib when I left work I was afraid I wouldn't make it to my car.

Welcome to Polio Today - I am a member of the class of '53.  It was just before my 6th birthday.  I misunderstood that my birthday present were my braces instead of the bike I had been promised.  I was "somewhat" disappointed about the situation at that time.  I had to go back to using 2 afos about 11 years ago.  This time, they are my friends instead of an unwanted present
