Dear Lee,
I am delighted you asked me to correspond. Can you tell me a little about yourself? You are a painter? I had polio in 53 and, don't want to accept that I am having real health problems with PPS, but I know I am. But, I still don't want to deal with it. I've been active all of my life, and now it seems like the rug has just been pulled away from under me, and I'm really reeling with it. I'm 56 and don't want to stop the things I am doing or the things I love to do. I guess we are all like that here though, no one wishes this on anyone. I'll write more later, and thank you again for thinking of me. Dawn

Wow thats is awesome Lee Kim, you are a very talented person....blessed. I do stick drawings ..thats it!! I do enjoy making jewerly and have beading classes 1x a week (thats all I can fit in). I also enjoy silk painting but thats dead easy, no free hand (tracing).

I work as a PA to the GM of a 5*hotel and its tough going, but I do enjoy the interaction with everybody here. Chat again later..take care

I looked your city up on Google and some of it looked very familiar to me. And while it is true that we stayed in Kuala Lumpur, the company (the Malaysia office) also organized many side trips. so I went back and looked over my photos, and I WAS in Malacca!

I didn't get to see all of it personally, because even way back in 2001, I just couldn't do all the walking with my husband. Even then, I was starting to have difficulties with my PPS and I just couldn't walk it all.

But I did see a lot of your beautiful city, very picturesque!

Maybe someday I'll visit Malaysia again, it was really quite an amazing experience!

Hi Lee Kim! I had not had a chance to say to you yet...life can get so crazy at times.I live in Southern California, about one hour north of San Diego, where the Salk Institute is located.

I had the amazing opportunity (at the expense of my husband's employer, thank goodness) to visit Malaysia in August of 2001. My husband competed in a tanker truck driving competition over several days at the Sepang Raceway.

We stayed for 10 days in Kuala Lumpur, and we saw a lot of the surrounding area as well. We had the privilege of having dinner in the Petronas Towers and were allowed to walk across the skybridge, an experience I will never forget! Those are the most beautiful buildings, they look like they are made of silver! Malaysia is a very hot humid place, yet extremelty beautiful and so very friendly!

Hi Lee- I was just reading your profile. Sounds like PPS has no boundries.. I am so excited to have this site and be in touch with Polio Survivors around the world!! We are so lucky to have this technology today to be able to share experiences.
