As the eldest of four children, with me at age 17, in 1949 all of us got polio. For the youngest two it was more like the flu, and it passed over them. My younger brother was hit the hardest and died at age 55. For me, the experience was like a college education where I paid close attention. By age 18 I was aware of two things that I can only attribute to the polio.The first problem was that I became aware my scalp itched badly. HI LARRY. YOU GOT POLIO THE SAME YEAR I WAS BORN. I GOT IN 1953. I WAS 3. I HAVE FRIENDS THAT LIVE IN IDYLLWILD. MY LEFT LEG IS VERY SHINNY AND DO MUCH TO HELP OUT. I HAVE A LEG BRACE, HAND MADE SHOES TO GO WITH LEG BRACE, SCOOTER, WALKING STICK AND BARS IN SHOWER AND BATHROOM. I DO ALRIGHT BUT GETTING SLOWER BY THE DAY. ALSO HAD BACK SURGERY SO ALL MY BACK IS PIPES AND  SCREWS NUTS AND BOLTS. WELL THE NUTS ARE JUST IN MY HEAD. TAKE CARE AND ALWAYS BE SUNNY SIDE UP
