Please describe how polio has changed your life.
I am self conscious about my limp and unsteady gait. I can't climb stairs so I can't go to any venue where there are stairs. Sometimes I have trouble getting out of a car. After having my family over for dinners (my favorite thing) it takes a week to recover. My social life suffers because I don't want to have to expalin what is wrong.

Thanks.  Just this past March I traveled with my daughter and daughter n law to Phuket Thailand to see my son who is a hotel manager there.  We traveled around the island for a week and even took a speed boat out to the beautiful PHI PHI Islands.  We then flew to Hong Kong for a few days and saw many sights there and also took a ferry to Macau to see many interesting ancient sights.  My daughter n law and I then flew on to Tacloban Leyte Philippines where she grew up.  I was treated quite royally there and was able to see how things are recovering from the horrific typhoon that hit there in November 2013.  It was a grand adventure!  So the trip included 9 plane flights, 5 ferry boat rides, 1 speed boat and uncountable van and taxi rides.  So then I came home and went back to work.  I am still working as a DENTAL HYGIENIST 2 days a week.  Next week I travel to Illinois to see my brother and to, hopefully, see the total eclipse there.

I solve the problem of dinners by now taking my family out to meals.  I have many girlfriends and we do lots of dinners and outings together.  If I can't walk, I take my little scooter that fits in the back of the car and my friend helps me get it out.  When I travel overseas, I take the manual wheelchair and get pushed, which I hate. However, I want to see things bad enough to bite the bullet.  Hang in there and try to go out more often.
