Today physical therapy now in includes, in addition to classic role of exercising, home heath care including safety inspections, the recording of vital signs, wound management, patient training regarding recovery in the home and recuperation techniques. Fall prevention will be discussed especially the home.

This is an important topic because, as we all age, living with our physical limitations sometimes requires utilizing new equipment and techniques to allow us to live at home safely and independently. This is very important especially in the bathroom and kitchen.

As usual we we be having an open discussion on polio and post polio syndrome. Come along and tell us what works for you.

Hope to see you there.

They are currently collecting genetic information from polio survivors who experienced paralysis to see if we all have a genetic predisposition that caused us to be paralyzed from polio when others that also had polio did not experience paralysis. Very interesting. We will be collecting my genetic sample at the meeting!
We also will be reviewing some new literature, meant for health professionals, from Polio Australia.
